Opal® Makes a Difference

Vote for the 2014 Grantees through April 29th!

The Opal® apple Youth Make a Difference Initiative awards funding to youth-based initiatives serving communities in the U.S. where youth take leadership roles in the project. 

The initiatives address one or more of the issues of:

  • Food security
  • Nutrition
  • Agriculture
  • Food politics and education

Applications for the Youth Make a Difference Initiative will be accepted January 1, 2014 through February 28, 2014. Access the 2014 terms and conditions.

Opal® is known as the apple with a purpose. We seek to build holistic, sustainable community by empowering members to put their dreams into action and then serve those most in need within their community. To that end we are sponsoring the Opal® Apple Youth Make a Difference initiative for 2014, and are looking to our fans and the general public to help us find our next great cause.

Opal® Apple 2014 Partner Chop Chop Magazine!

Opal has partnered with ChopChop Magazine, the award-winning non-profit cooking magazine for kids 5-12.ChopChop’s mission is to inspire kids to cook real food with their families and ultimately, to reverse the obesity and hunger epidemics.

Endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics, ChopChop, The Fun Cooking Magazine for Families, is a nonprofit quarterly food magazine. ChopChop is distributed to more than 10,000 pediatricians’ offices nationwide and to neighborhood health centers and afterschool programs in underserved communities. All proceeds from subscriptions and donations help support the distribution of ChopChop to low-income families.
